A lavish, new boutique hotel in the heart of Holborn. L'oscar is a turn-of-the-century architectural gem, now extravagantly restored by world-leading decorateur, Jacques Garcia and L’oscar International. The hotel has been created from a Baroque-style, grade II listed former church in Holborn, a grand literary hub, and the centre of a thriving mix of bars, shops and restaurants that forms part of the city’s coolest high-end district. Imagination and attention to detail is woven into the fabric of L’oscar, from the sumptuously-decorated bedrooms, velvet and leather interiors, exquisitely-unique champagne coupes, crystal butterfly wing taps and chandelier.
Located on the first floor, The Committee Room is steeped in history. It features an original fireplace, a vaulted hand plastered ceiling and a Royal Doulton terracotta plaque carved in 1903. The formality of the oak panelled walls is wonderfully offset by the large, playful peacock painting, the Lalique bird lights and the bespoke furnishings.

Cancellation Charges Between 0 – 30 days prior to the event date – 100% of total projected charge Between 31 – 90 days prior to the event date – 75% of total projected charge Between 91 – 180 days prior to the event date – 50% of total projected charge Between 181 – and up to the event date - 25% of total projected charge Cancellation charges in excess of the initial deposit will be reduced by any revenues received from alternative business that the Hotel has been able to secure on the Client’s behalf. Definitive cancellation charges due can only be confirmed to the Client after the intended date of the Event. The Client acknowledges that the cancellation terms set out above represent a reasonable pre-estimate of the damages likely to be suffered by the Hotel in the event of cancellation or reduction and that they are not intended to operate as a penalty.

March 2024Great hotel. Service was superb. Large bath towels, comfy feather pillows, right next to the underground. It was also the most sound proofed and quietest hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Our room was outside the elevators and we never heard a thing.

April 2024Location: L'oscar London boasts a prime location next to Holburn tube station, offering easy access via the Central and Piccadilly lines. Despite its central location, the rooms are remarkably quiet. Service: From the moment of arrival, the service at L'oscar London is nothing short of impeccable. The staff is consistently friendly and eager to assist, ensuring guests feel both welcomed and valued. Food & Drinks: While we only experienced breakfast at the hotel, it was excellent. Guests have a variety of choices from the breakfast menu. Rooms: The rooms are beautifully furnished and well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The layout is practical, featuring a wardrobe and a sitting area. Facilities: Although the hotel lacks its own gym, guests have access to a fully-equipped gym next door. The lounge area is welcoming and well-appointed. Summary: L'oscar London is a superbly located hotel with excellent service, making it ideal for both tourists and business travelers. It provides easy access to all major sights.

March 2024I have only been to the restaurant and lounge; I haven't stayed at L'Oscar as a guest. My experience as a patron was *spectacular*. This place is really something exceptional, a hidden gem and, frankly, not as pricey as one might expect from a hotel of this standard. The attention to detail was amazing in its own right. The service is 5-star too, everyone is really nice and friendly and not at all stuck up or snobbish, which I appreciate. Overall an Olympic 10 from me. Can't wait to visit again.

February 2024Visited in August 2023. 4.5/5. Visited L’Oscar for the first time for a very impromptu dinner reservation. I never heard of this place before and was recommended by my friend who had connections. We arrived for a 6pm reservation and were made to feel welcome and special. The setting is luxurious. The decor is beautiful, well themed and oozed comfort and opulence. The menu was varied, we opted for a variety of dishes. Lamb, chicken, fish and scallop/prawn tostadas from the A La Carte menu. Everything was delicious, using the fine ingredients. They even gave us some skewered meat served in the grass lawn as complimentary. The wine list was extensive. What brought the experience down was the chairs were dirty and layered with dust to the untrained eye. Also, the wine list menu was poorly secured in the folder and pages all over the place. Considering the expensive prices, standards and overall decor - you would have thought that this would be non negotiable standards. However, it did not deter from the overall service and experience we had then. I would recommend this place for special occasions.

May 2024My husband and I had a one night layover and spent it at L’oscar and we could not have had a better experience! The staff were so friendly. The minute the doors opened the doorman grabbed our bags and brought us refreshments and pastries to enjoy while we went through the check in process. The concierge was extremely friendly and showed us to our room, then gave us a tour of the room and how to operate the lights, AC, etc. After dinner we were exploring the hotel and one of the staff noticed us then gave us an exclusive tour. The room was absolutely beautiful, as was the decor throughout the lobby and hallways. The restaurant and bar were exquisite, and the cocktails divine! We will definitely be returning and staying for longer next time!!
